High-speed or sectional door?
Which door type should I compare for this opening?
Compare traffic frequency, available space and the separation required between the two areas. A flexible high-speed curtain and a sectional panel door solve different combinations of these requirements.
Start with the traffic
Record what passes through the opening, the largest vehicle or load, daily opening cycles and peak traffic periods. Identify separate pedestrian routes and describe how vehicles approach the door. Opening speed alone does not establish suitability or safety.
Check the building interface
Measure clear width and height, headroom, side room and backroom. Include pipes, beams, sprinklers and supporting structure in the drawing. Sectional track arrangements and curtain storage both need space; the required clearance is configuration-specific.
Compare complete configurations
Review curtain or panel construction, activation, safety devices, sealing, operator, power supply and installation scope. Do not compare prices without checking that the proposed configuration and responsibilities are equivalent.
Selection guidance based on the JBL Entrance door systems catalogue and project enquiry checklist. Final suitability, dimensions and configuration require project-specific confirmation.
